    Buyer Beware

    I researched for quite a while for a new gun cabinet, and this particular model kept coming up over and over again. After months of thinking and researching, I finally purchased the cabinet. When I received the package, everything seemed in order. However, when I opened and unwrapped everything, the front glass door had damage to the wood. It was too late to wrap it all back up and send back, so I kept building. I soon realized that the wood is cheap particle board and very flimsy. Also, none of the hinges work properly and the doors don't close the whole way. I had to replace all the fittings around the glass to keep the windows from falling out. And the locks! How do you screw these up? The locks install just fine, but they are useless, as the don't lock onto anything! None of the doors ...

    Defective and unsafe design

    Somewhere in the ad for this product I missed the "need for assembly" part, which was readily clarified when I opened the box and several hundred pieces fell out! Nonetheless, my low rating is based solely on its defective and potentially hazardous design. The problem is where the top cabinet attaches to the base. Even after correct placement of the bolts and flimsy dowels, there is very little lateral stability and I believe the case could collapse when it is moved. I was able to remedy this by attaching heavy duty metal corner brackets at six locations on the back. Finally, many of the markings for screw placement are incorrect. Although I was able to assemble it alone, I strongly recommend help and allowing extra hours to correct its poor design.

    Good Value for the money

    If your looking for a reasonably priced gun cabinet, this may be a good choice for you. The cabinet design is unique in that it holds 12 shotguns/rifles and takes up minimal space. Fit and finish is average. Storage area is nice and unit has locks.

    Seems like a factory 'reject'

    I bought this for my husband, a carpenter by trade, for Father's Day. He was surprised with just how poorly / cheaply it was made. Parts did not fit together like they should, there are marker marks in several places, a dent in the wood right on the front edge, the back cover was cracked at the top, it took him quite a long time to get it together, the locks were a pain to get on and make work. It is supposed to be a 12-gun cabinet but only has bottom rest for 6. It almost seems like it one of those 'irregular' products that the manufacturer can't sell at whole price. Really disappointing....

    Pretty nice

    Product pretty good quality went together pretty good. The holes for the dowel pins weren't the right size on some of the pieces had to use some kind of adhesive so it would grab. Not enough screws for hinges, and some of the marks where the screws are supposed to go not in the right place other than that made it work.
