    light entertaining war flick

It's a movie of it's time. If you enjoy older movies and you don't try to use it as a factual historical movie it's a good show. It's entertainment, enjoy.

    Great Movie - Terrible packaging!!

The movie was great. How can you go wrong with James Garner? Movie A+ However, whoever manufactured the dvd case is a moron. Though these cases have continued to cheapen over the years, this in without a doubt the most ridiculous case I have ever seen. Upon opening the dvd case you discover it really is just a partial shell full of holes and lends no protection for your dvd. I have purchased a number of dvds over the past 10 years in any number of different types of cases, but now they are making them just look like there is a case. A hole could accidentally be poked through the front or the back of the case (if you can call it that) and the dvd damaged because only the dvd artwork is covering the dvd. It squeezes like a roll of toilet paper. No substance there to protect what you ...

  • Classic Nostalgia!

"UP PERISCOPE" by Robb White was one of the first novels I bought and read as a kid in the late 1960's. I loved the story, and have not seen the movie until now. I enjoyed the movie thoroughly! Although a little 'campy' and 'corny' as WWII movies were in the 50's & 60's it was still great fun. Alan Hale aka "The Skipper" from Gilligan's Island as Pat Malone, was a joy to watch, and his lines were comical and well-delivered. The FX were as expected - acceptable for the time, except it appears they borrowed underwater scenes with the sub gliding past from other movies - which showed a different & earlier class (model) of US Submarines than the Balao Class, the USS Barracuda was supposed to be in the movie. All in all, Fun, Suspenseful and Enjoyable !!!

  • Great movie about early Seals the frog men

There are some very points about frog men and special ops in WWII. Enjoyable movie to watch Old movie so the theatrics are back then. Nice to see and tells a different story but well done overall.

  • Good for Submarine aficionadoes

Based on a weak novel, this bike is a little predictable, and not particularly authentic when it comes to the actual events of WW II. Still kind of fun for submarine lovers, though.
