This edition of Native Son --the restored text established by the Library of America--is the novel as Wright intended it to be published.     Amazing book. Different than Black Like Me but equally important for understanding the strides that have been made in race relations. All young African Americans should read this and everyone else should read it to gain breadth and understanding.
