Good carb kit for me.
Rebuild kit was great for my 640084a carb. Main seal, float seat, emulsifier orings, bowl nut gasket were all good. ended up with a variety of extra parts I'm guessing are for other carbs. Wish it had the emulsifier tube itself since I cracked mine disassembling the carb. I fixed it with plastic epoxy putty though. would buy kit again

Rebuilding Tecumseh lawnmower carburetor.
My 17 year old Scotts (Murray) lawnmower started running really bad. Genuine Tech. carbs are expensive and the Chinese knock-offs aren't always exact replacements ( I learned this with a chain saw ). First of all if you are going to rebuild a carb also get a new Emulsion Tube aka, fixed metering orifice. Mine was old and brittle and fell apart trying to remove it. For by particular carb it was Tecumseh no. 640019 get more than one, they are inexpensive. Just watch a few Youtube videos of the rebuilding process, download the assembly drawing of the carb and take your time. I did not even bother to remove the Welch plugs. Take pictures of all the linkage and connections before removing the carb. Once done and along with a new spark plug and air filter I put in fresh gas and oil and with ...
