Spanning 300 years between 1453 and 1789, Europa Universalis III allows players to enter the game during any point and attempt to build one of 250 countries into a dominating world power. Designed to be as historically accurate as possible, gamers dropping into any year will find the exact historical rulers, borders, and government implemented at that time. However, once a game begins, both players and computer opponents can act freely. AI does not follow a set historical pattern and games may end with Poland owning Europe or the colonization of Virginia by Portugal. <br><br>Featuring numerous customization options, players can determine their preferred government, society structure, trade politics, leaders, troops, and other options as they grow their civilization and set out to conquer over 1700 provinces and sea zones. To aide in the task of ruling a country, advisors are available for purchase and can help gamers make decisions to best serve their people. Europa Universalis III features additional options including the ability to research government and national ideas, and the option to send spies into neighboring countries for assassinations, espionage, or to generate instability. Players may rule alone or cooperate with several friends in the multiplayer mode.

    Realistic, But Complicated - Europa Universalis III

    This is among the most realistic strategy games you can buy. The provinces are realistic, given their actual historical names, and with resources and strengths that they historically had. You can play almost any historical nation or faction that you wish, no matter how small or insignificant their chance of actually winning is. It is a good idea for beginners to take nation-states that are considered easier (England, France, Spain); but if your heart's desire is to play Brittany, Denmark, Wallachia or the like, have at it. This strength leads to the biggest shortcoming of the game. Realism requires lots of planning of logistics, trade, and other factors that go into military and economic strength.     Good game, very detailed!

    Very detailed game, liked it a lot. The sea battles are especially detailed and wonderfully mounted. Graphics are superb, full of detail and bright colors.

    Europa Universalis III

    I think that this game is better than older edition. Only the grapphic is terrible (.. but it isn't the goal of the gane ..)

    buyer beware...

    Make absolutly sure that you have the system requirements for this game. I have an ati radeon 9200 video driver only a couple of years old and it doesnt work with my computer. I really enjoyed playing EU2 so this is very disapointing for me.
