    Basic Weather Station

    Got this wireless weather station yesterday and so far I think it is great. Downloaded the manual and set the time and date and other things. It was very easy to figure out. I sat the external sensor beside the indoor unit and gave them a while to normalize and the temp for both was pretty much the same. Any variation I attribute to the outdoor sensor only sending a signal to update the unit at timed intervals and is not continuous. That would take too much battery life out of it. Supposed to get about 2 years or more on a set of batteries. TBD. The display is easy to read and easy to change between the different modes of information. I paid about $15 for this one and I think it is a great value for the money.

    Incorrect Data - Contradictory Data

    This unit looked powerful for the price range. However, with the one unit that I purchased, any price would have been too much because it gave incorrect and contradictory data. Even with the exterior and interior unit side by side...for days...the humidity readings never matched and the temperature readings never came closer than over 4 degrees apart. i.e. Interior 72 and exterior 68. One degree apart would be disappointing, but over four and often over five is just too much to even be useful to me : (

    Imprecise. Inaccurate.

    Imprecise. Inaccurate too. Functionally decent, easy to read, easy to get sensor to connect, each part takes 2 AA batteries, etc, BUT: Side by side in my living room for five days, the temperature from the base unit was 1.5-2 degrees F higher than the outside sensor. Every time, at least 1.5 degrees different, sometimes as much as 2 degrees F. Why? Same shelf, halfway up the bookshelves, no breeze. Humidity was always within 1% of each other. Temps never agreed, and never agreed with my old system. Temps were both higher by a degree and lower by a degree than my old system, with no discernible pattern. Frustrating!!! If you don't care within a few degrees, great. But then why are you getting a sensor?

    Lots of info for the price

    This is a great little weather station for the price. Gives outdoor temp, indoor temp, humidity (which is important in Florida), lunar phase, time and alarm clock feature. This is our second La Crosse product and we are very happy with it. Helpful hint for humid climates: if the outdoor temp stops working, bring the outdoor station in and let it dry out. Then reset it. To avoid moisture in the outside device, place in a ziplock bag before putting back out.

    Decent Remote Temperature Indicator

    Nice character size, good contrast, has been working reliably for a week now. I don't like that it resets the MIN/MAX registers every day, also don't like that it lacks WWV time sync capability.
